Every day, we risk our lives just to turn into our road on Lee Highway at Bancroft Road here in Mc Donald, TN. Navigating this stretch of highway involves slowing down in a traffic lane that curves, where visibility is low, and vehicles behind us are often traveling at speeds as high as 65 mph. Drivers desperate to avoid slowing down swerve onto the shoulder, creating nerve-wracking and hazardous situations. 

The risk of an accident is significant and ever-present. The fear is not just hypothetical or exaggerated; it's a daily reality for all of us living in this area. Simple errands and coming home from work should not involve this level of endangerment and anxiety. The space and most of the pavement for a turning lane are already there. Implementing a proper turning lane is a practical and necessary measure to enhance road safety and reduce traffic congestion.

The county has the ability and resources to address this well-known hazard. By finishing the existing space into a turning lane, they will be safeguarding the lives of residents and commuters and demonstrating a strong commitment to community welfare. We urge the authorities to take immediate action before an avoidable tragedy occurs.
