My daughter and her classmates, along with their adult caregivers, cross the intersection of Melrose and E. Naples daily. Safety is my primary concern. Kellogg Elementary School is located at this intersection, yet not a day goes by where vehicles make a complete stop at the stop signs. It's dangerous for any pedestrian crossing this intersection, even more so if the pedestrian is a juvenile.

Drivers often fail to make complete stops and frequently make illegal U-turns. The stop signs have outlived their usefulness as traffic has increased significantly in recent years. Installing a traffic light will ensure that drivers adhere to traffic rules and provide much-needed safety for our children and all pedestrians.
