Jubilee Way, otherwise known as Front Street, is a 30 MPH zone in Pontefract. On this road, as a resident and worker, I've witnessed countless incidents due to reckless and mindless driving. Day in and day out, cars of all kinds abuse the speed limit, turning our street into a dangerous place. Tragic accidents, some fatal, were consequences of this neglectful behavior; not to mention property damages to businesses and vehicles.

In proximity to this road, we have local pre-schools and colleges, where our children and young people are at risk due to this excessive speeding. It's a heavy weight to bear, the constant worry about the safety of our younger generation.

Implementing a speed camera system on Jubilee Way would not only ensure better adherence to the speed limit, thereby making the roads safer for both drivers and pedestrians, but it would also aid in the flow of traffic.

The apprehension of a speed camera has an inherent deterrent effect, and placing one on Jubilee Way could contribute significantly to preventing further accidents and losses. This step for improved road safety could potentially save lives and our peace of mind.
