As residents of Terrace, BC, Canada, we are witnessing a significant change in our neighbourhood. Our families are growing and this growth is causing an increase in traffic on North Eby Street. Along with the rise in vehicular traffic, there's also an upsurge in pedestrian activity. Parents with children of all ages, cyclists, dog walkers and seniors - we're all trying to share the pavement.

The current situation is not only inconvenient but also poses a safety risk. While many drivers are courteous enough to move over for pedestrians and cyclists, sometimes due to oncoming traffic there just isn't enough room.

Installing a sidewalk would provide a safe space for pedestrians and reduce potential accidents caused by sharing the road with vehicles. Statistics show that sidewalks can reduce pedestrian crashes by 88%. This change could significantly improve safety conditions for everyone using North Eby Street.
