As a concerned parent with two young children, one of whom is school-going, I find myself overcome with apprehension each time my child steps off the school bus onto our treacherous street here in Nedrow, NY. Located in the South Onondaga area. The fear that each day may bring an unfortunate incident due to the lack of a "School Bus Stop Ahead" sign and the frequent speeding down our hilly road is a constant reality for many families in our community. Major highways have these signs and an area that serves three schools in our district should indeed merit one. Speeding on this particular street is so rampant that law enforcement often has the task of issuing citations for those who ignore the abrupt speed reduction near our homes. 

Despite the dangers and multiple petitions to install a school bus stop sign having been submitted, all have sadly been denied. This denial not only undermines the safety of our children but also jeopardizes the wellbeing of our community.

Given the gravity of the situation, it becomes paramount for the voice of our neighborhood to rise surrounding this issue. Let's call upon the town officials to demonstrate their commitment towards child safety by installing a "School Bus Stop Ahead" sign on our hill.
