The Issue
I have some bad but good news…
NOR was able to get back to me today, and well they don’t own most of the land. Including the field currently being unused.
HOWEVER! We WERE STILL HEARD! They will be breaking ground THIS year for an off leash dog park for both small and big. They will have some playtime equipment as well water fountains for our furry family members at standard park!
So it’s amazing news we are still getting one, but unfortunately not in this neighborhood. I did all I could. Sorry everyone!
✨ Español hacia el fondo Last month, my beloved dog fell victim to an off-leash dog attack at our local community park. This traumatic experience left my pet injured and has filled me with an urgent sense of responsibility to ensure the safety of all pets and people in our neighborhood. Our community park, although a wonderful place for social gatherings, has unfortunately become a site where off-leash dogs roam freely, disregarding their owners' recall commands.
This isn't only my concern; many residents within our community have observed dogs running off-leash, often causing discomfort or even harm to other dogs and park-goers. The unprecedented freedom that these dogs experience is both a threat to their safety and to the safety of others around them.
A simple yet effective solution is to introduce a fenced-in dog park area within our community park, taken care by the community. This addition would not only offer a safe and secure space for dogs to play freely but would also give owners peace of mind, knowing their pets can enjoy the park without crossing paths with uncontrolled off-leash dogs. Moreover, this dedicated area would encourage responsible pet ownership, ensuring that dogs remain within a secure environment, thus reducing potential conflicts and incidents.
Let's take action to protect our community and create a more inviting, secure park for all to enjoy. Please sign this petition urging our local council to approve and construct a fenced-in dog park in our community park. Together, we can foster a safer environment for pets and families alike.
