It's disheartening to witness the decline of our once vibrant community in Melrose Avenue. Our neighborhood, known for joyful street parties and safe play areas for children, is becoming overshadowed by an alarming rise in anti-social behaviour. Every day, at various times, individuals brazenly steal from the Co-op on Colchester Avenue, only to stash these stolen goods in our front gardens and cause disruptions.

These individuals often appear intoxicated, shouting profanities and engaging in fights over their loot. This escalating situation has left us, the residents, feeling unsafe in our own street. It seems that our sense of security and serenity is vanishing.

The Co-op on Colchester Avenue is at the center of this distressing situation. Local people love the Co-op and it's staff and we welcome the service it provides our area. However it lacks adequate security measures, making it a hotspot for theft and disorder. South Wales Police and Cardiff County Council have the capacity to ensure our safety by enforcing stricter security protocols at this location.

By urging these authorities to take immediate action, we can restore peace to our cherished community. Installing high-quality surveillance systems, increasing police patrols, and enhancing store security could deter criminal activities.
