The intersection of US 95A and Cottonwood Ln in Fernley is an issue that can no longer be ignored or brushed off. Driving through this intersection are the residents, and specifically high schoolers of Fernley every day. If you live in Fernley, you know how normal it is to hear of an accident occurring here. I, a student at Fernley High School, have even almost gotten into a few accidents at this intersection myself. To access Fernley high school from 95% of the city of Fernley, you must travel through this intersection. Traffic constantly backs up on Cottonwood Ln and creates hazardous situations for any driver to encounter, let alone high school students, who may have just gotten their license, and who are just trying to traverse between school and home. 

Putting a stoplight in at this intersection would decrease backups and crashes on Cottonwood Ln and traffic turning left onto Cottonwood Ln from US 95A exponentially. It would also create a much more safe environment for High Schoolers like myself to drive through every day. Putting in stoplights at the intersections of River Ranch Rd and Nevada Pacific Pkwy at US 50A here in Fernley has made those intersections much safer, why not do it here too?

Please help me push to get a stoplight put in at the intersection of US 95A and Cottonwood Ln. The students of Fernley High School and the citizens of Fernley do not deserve to drive through this dangerous intersection every day. Something needs to be done. This is an issue that can no longer be ignored.
