In June 2016 Premier Wynne not only shuffled her Cabinet - she also split up the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing into two ministries, and appointed two new ministers. HVAC expert Dara Bowser promptly wrote to the new Minister of Housing, Minister Chris Ballard, and asked him to take responsibility for Calling an Inquiry into lack of enforcement of the Ontario Building Code (which he submitted in May 2015). Last week, Dara received a response on behalf of Minister Ballard, thanking him for his submission, but referring the matter to the new Ministry of Municipal Affairs. The issue seems to boil down to which ministry is responsible for administering the Building Code Act. Please stay tuned....we are working on trying to get this clarified.
