The Grand Forks Youth Hockey Association is facing a critical issue that requires immediate attention. The current GFYHA Board members have been failing in their duties and responsibilities. Their actions and decisions have not been in the best interest of the community they serve or the mission they claim to uphold. These egregious violations have been outlined in the February 18, 2024, Letter to the GFYHA Members a from Scott Foyt. 

Nonprofit organizations play an essential role in our society by providing services and resources that fill gaps left by both government and business sectors. They rely on trust from the public for their survival. When board members fail to meet their obligations or act against the interests of those they serve, it undermines this trust.

I am pursuing legal action to remove these board members from their positions immediately. We need leaders who will prioritize the GFYHA Member’s needs over personal gain or agenda.

By signing this petition, you are agreeing to the following:

1)     Your signature represents an agreement to support the filing of a lawsuit in the Grand Forks District Court seeking the removal of the Members of the Grand Forks You Hockey Board pursuant to North Dakota Century Code 10-33-37.

2)     Your signature represents an agreement to support the pursuit of expenses and attorney’s fees pursuant to North Dakota Century Code 10-33-81 incurred during the pursuit of the removal of the GFHYA board.

3)     Your signature represents an agreement to seek personal liability from each individual GFYHA Board member and associated organization for expenses and attorneys fees sought and obtained pursuant to North Dakota Century Code 10-33-81 on behalf of the GFYHA.
