My nephew's life was taken too early, lost to neglect and potential addiction. He was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Ashley Marie McCloud, his biological mother. Tragically, my nephew was not restrained in the car; they were speeding at 90mph, and Ms. McCloud was texting while driving. This is not just a heartbreaking story of personal loss, but a clear instance of negligence that raises grave concerns about her suitability to educate and protect our children.

There are allegations of past charges, fraud, and addiction associated with Ms. McCloud, and it is vital that the North Carolina school board acknowledges this as a serious issue. Such behaviors and allegations should not be dismissed in a person charged with nurturing, influencing, and educating young minds. The safety of our children should be of paramount importance.
