As a concerned parent with children enrolled in the Guymon, OK, schools, I am greatly distressed by the credible threats of shootings at our schools. The risk posed to our children and educators is too high to ignore.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation reports that 27.8% of all active shooter incidents in the United States between 2000-2018 took place in education environments (FBI, 2018 Active Shooter Incidents in the United States in 2018). I refuse to let Guymon become the next town in the news for such a tragedy.
