We are a group of devoted sports enthusiasts who carry a deep passion for volleyball. It's more than just a game for us; it's a way of life. Unfortunately, as future students at River Ridge High School, we don't have the opportunity to freely enjoy this sport as the school currently offers volleyball as a girls' exclusive sport.

But why should volleyball be gender-specific at our school? It's a popular sport loved by all. According to the National Federation of State High School Associations, more than 60,000 male students play high school volleyball in the United States [NFHS, 2019]. It is unfair to deny the boys at River Ridge High School the chance to participate in a sport that they love, a sport that is widely accepted and played by boys in schools across the country.

To bridge this gap, we call on the authorities at River Ridge High School to initiate a Boys Volleyball team. This small step towards inclusivity will empower us, the boys who love to play, to develop our skills, foster teamwork, and enjoy the sport we ardently love. Along with promoting inclusivity, this team could potentially open doors for sports scholarships for male students, offering more opportunities for our future.
