My name is Oracle Mama and I’m an advocate for the missing. I am deeply affected by the lack of awareness surrounding missing person cases. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people go missing in the United States alone. According to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), as of December 31, 2020, there were over 89,000 active missing person records. The pain and uncertainty that their loved ones experience are unimaginable.

However, despite these staggering numbers, public awareness and policy response remain insufficient. The media coverage is often biased towards certain demographics while many cases are overlooked or forgotten quickly. This disparity in attention leads to a lack of resources dedicated to solving these cases and bringing closure to families.

We need a national advocacy program that will ensure every missing person case receives equal attention and resources regardless of age, race or socioeconomic status. This program would also work towards creating policies that prioritize finding these individuals and supporting their families during such difficult times.
