Make Lacrosse An Olympic Sport Again Now!!! For Men and Women!!!

Hello Everyone, my name is Jack, and I believe that Lacrosse should be in the Olympics. I just finished my spring season and now I am going to play high school lacrosse next year. So I have a pretty strong opinion on lacrosse being in the olympics.

Lacrosse was only put in the Olympics in the 1904 and the 1908 Summer Games, and then taken out for this reason: To make it onto the Olympic programme, a sport first has to be recognised: it must be administered by an International Federation which ensures that the sport’s activities follow the Olympic Charter. If it is widely practised around the world and meets a number of criteria established by the IOC session, a recognised sport may be added to the Olympic programme on the recommendation of the IOC’s Olympic Programme Commission.

But the good news is, Lacrosse is likely to return to the olympics shortly, and for good reason; In the U.S., no sport has grown faster at the high school level over the last 10 years. Lacrosse has also been the fastest growing sport at the NCAA level over the last six years, and the game’s taking off internationally.

Putting Lacrosse back into the olympics would make so many people happy. And not just the MLL and College players. Youth Lacrosse players would also be overjoyed by this change. And as a 14 year old I can certainly say that I love to watch lacrosse games and videos all the time. I can't get enough of them. So if the International Olympic Committee and the President of the Organising Committee for the Olympic Games would allow this, so many people would benefit from it.

Thank you for signing my petition. Every signature counts! :)
