A minimum sentence of 10 days in jail, payment of court determined fines, and mandatory impoundment of your vehicle is the result of riding a quad, motorcylce, or any other OHV while holding a suspended license.  The penalty seems to heavily outweigh the crime.  Those holding a suspended license will suffer the same penalties whether they are driving down the freeway in a car or riding on a dirt trail in the middle of the nowhere on a quad.  This "fair" punishment is the result of disobeying a law that most California residents are unaware of.
