The Issue

Mark Grace is one of the most consistent, respected, and clutch hitters in modern baseball history — yet he still isn’t in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. It’s time to change that.

The Facts:

 • Most Hits in the 1990s: 1,754 — more than Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken Jr., and Craig Biggio.

 • Career Batting Average: .303 over 16 seasons (1988–2003).

 • Doubles: 511 (T-53rd all-time) — more than Willie Stargell, Joe DiMaggio, and Johnny Bench.

 • On-Base Percentage: .383 — higher than multiple Hall of Famers.

 • World Series Champion (2001 Arizona Diamondbacks).

 • 3× All-Star, 4× Gold Glove Winner — excellence on both sides of the ball.

Grace wasn’t just about numbers — he was a clubhouse leader, a steadying presence, and a fan favorite in two cities. His approach to the game embodied everything the Hall of Fame stands for: skill, sportsmanship, and integrity.

This December, the Veterans/Contemporary Baseball Era Committee has the chance to right this oversight. By signing this petition, you’re joining fans, players, coaches, and baseball historians in urging the committee to vote YES for Mark Grace’s induction into Cooperstown.

Let’s honor one of the greatest pure hitters of our generation and ensure his legacy is cemented where it belongs — in the Hall of Fame.
