Induct Connie Francis, Paul Anka & Neil Sedaka into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame NOW!
The Issue
As a local radio DJ who has played all three of these artists on my show — Connie Francis’s “Where the Boys Are,” Paul Anka’s “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” and Neil Sedaka’s “Laughter in the Rain” — I know firsthand how their music still resonates, uplifts, and brings generations together.
These are not just hits — they are cultural touchstones. Yet somehow, Connie Francis, Paul Anka, and Neil Sedaka have never been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
That’s why we’ve launched the FAS campaign — named for Francis, Anka, and Sedaka — with a call to the Rock Hall to move FAS(T) and give these icons the honor they’ve long deserved.
🎶 Why They Matter:
Connie Francis: The first female pop superstar. Over 200 million records sold. She recorded in 15 languages and became a voice of resilience, heartbreak, and female independence in the pre-Beatles era. She amassed 35 Billboard Top 40 hits, with 16 reaching the Top 10 and three securing the No. 1 spot. Her versatility spanned various genres, including pop, country, and international music. Francis, now age 87, has not been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a point that is a significant oversight.
Paul Anka: A teenage heartthrob and legendary songwriter. He scored over 30 Top 40 hits, including “Diana” and “Put Your Head on My Shoulder.” He wrote classics like “My Way” for Sinatra and “She’s a Lady” for Tom Jones. A global star, he’s released 50+ albums, toured for decades, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Anka, who will turn 84 this July, deserves to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for his enduring chart success and for shaping the fabric of popular music through his songwriting.
Neil Sedaka: Sedaka helped shape early pop with his Brill Building songwriting brilliance — and became one of the rare artists to reinvent himself successfully across decades. He rose to fame in the early 1960s with hits like “Calendar Girl” and “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do,” helping shape that notable Brill Building sound. A prolific songwriter for artists like Connie Francis and Elvis, he made a chart-topping comeback in the 1970s. With over 500 songs recorded, the 86-year-old Sedaka’s legacy as a pop innovator remains unmatched.
These artists not only wrote and performed chart-topping hits, but they also bridged generations, broke barriers, and created the very foundation upon which today’s pop and rock music stand.
⏳ Why Now?
All three artists are in their 80s. Their window to receive this honor while they’re still here to appreciate it is closing fast. Recognition delayed is recognition denied.
📢 Our Request:
We urge the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and its nominating committee to:
While the 2025 Nominees are set, let's get Connie Francis, Paul Anka, and Neil Sedaka on the 2026 ballot!
Acknowledge their lasting influence on music, songwriting, and culture
Ensure they are inducted while they are still with us to receive this long-overdue honor.

If you’ve ever slow danced to “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” belted out “Stupid Cupid,” or smiled under a cloudy sky to “Laughter in the Rain” — this is your moment to say: They deserve this.
Let’s give them the spotlight they never stopped earning.
Let’s move FAS(T) — because legends don’t have forever.
