Remove the Michael T. Slager Support Page

Remove the Michael T. Slager Support Page
The Issue
Indiegogo is a reputable crowdfunding site that has functioned in the past, to our knowledge, with the highest integrity and consideration for the public good. However, recently, Indiegoggo has seen fit to host a support page for Michael T. Slager, a Charleston police officer who was videotaped murdering an unarmed black man in cold blood by shooting him in the back eight times. Now ex-officer Slager has been fired and charged with the crime. While according to the Indiegogo "Terms of Use," "Indiegogo makes no representations about the quality, safety, morality or legality of any Campaign, Perk or Contribution...," we contend that in the face of this glaring evidence against ex-officer Slager, Indiegogo is at least clear about the quality and morality of any efforts seeking to assist ex-officer Slager. We, thus, request that Indiegogo maintain its integrity and concern for the public good by removing the Michael T. Slager support page. Not to do so suggests that Indiegogo promotes "hate, discrimination, personal injury, death..." which is evidenced by the egregious criminal actions of Michael T. Slager and which violate Indiegogo's own policies denouncing any page that duly promotes such.
