अबला नहीं है NISHASTRA नारी, संघर्ष रहेगा हमारा जारी
The Issue
The whole country groaned in the pain of Damini: a victim of heinous crime on 16th December 2012. Millions of women were on roads for their dignity, justice & safety. The massive protest and demonstration of society pressurized the Government for making the corrections in existing laws. Strict law & hanging convicts in such crimes came into force.
Governments took many more initiatives against such crimes, but we can see there is no much difference in the lives of women. Even today, at least one woman in every two minutes in the country is a victim of some form of sexual abuse and crime. There are abusive incidents like violence, teasing, harassment & rape. That is, 936 every day and 3, 41,640 women every year. This figure is not just a number but a pathetic scenario of women in the country.
What’s the objective?
- To use self-defence trainings for empowerment of women.
- To raise a powerful voice against sexual violence.
- To create economic self-sufficiency for women.
- To create Lucknow as a model city where each girl & women is equipped with self-defence technique.
How we can achieve this?
Sign a petition to introduce the reputed “NISHASTRA” developed by Red Brigade Trust (http://redbrigade-lucknow.org/ in the course curriculum for school students to gain self-defence training early in their lives.
How does NISHASTRA helps?
“NISHASTRA” is a blend of learning’s of various techniques, incidences, situations & real experiences shared by sexual violence survivors of Red Brigade group and self-defence techniques of many countries which specifically fits for self-defence against sexual violence. Till date Red Brigade have trained over 1,57,000 girls/women with NISHASTRA, 56,000 out of this was done under the CAVACH Mission of Uttar Pradesh Government and the rest across 7 States and almost 50 prestigious organizations.

100 Days 100 Village clusters
Additionally, you can also have a more direct impact on the program! Red Brigade Lucknow is launching their new campaign “100 Days 100 Village clusters”.
They will…
- Train 10,000 women/girls for self-defense.
- A group of 100 girls will be formed, who will be prepared as master trainers. In the next phase, these girls will be able to play the role of leader of self-defense training team and take the cause forward in their respective areas.
- Amplify the voice against sexual violence and instill self confidence in rural women
But a program of this scale requires a lot of resources: people, time and capital. Red Brigade Lucknow’s initiatives have been noticed by more than fifty countries. They have trusted and trained volunteers who are dedicated to the cause, where you can come in is to provide the funds they need urgently to make this noble cause a reality. With as little as 200rs, you can provide meals for the volunteer for the day.
