Ban Karuppar Koottam Youtube Channel
The Issue
Karuppar Koottam is a growing network online. They have established as atheist group, however their target is only Hindus. Through Youtube & Facebook they have been spreading hatred towards Hindu rituals, beliefs & on the community itself. This group vulgarly describes the historic events of Hinduism. This has deeply hurt the sentiments of every Hindu.
Kandhan Shashti Kavasam is a very famous, powerful song, an ancient hymn to praise Lord Muruga, son of Lord Shiva. The song has been composed in 19th Century, by Devaraya Swamigal (born c. 1820), to praise of the Lord, seeking to shower His grace & protect every part of the human body.
The Karuppar Koottam published a video making derogatory remarks against this ancient hymn. This has hurt crores of people of Tamil Nadu, as this hymn is in soul & blood of every Tamil Hindu.
The Cyber Crime Branch (CCB) of the Chennai police registered a case against Surendran Natarajan of the Tamil YouTube channel Karuppar Koottam, based on a complaint filed by the BJP on Monday, 13th July 2020. This, following a video by the rationalist group which allegedly contained derogatory remarks against Hindu deity Lord Murugan.
A case has been filed under Sections 153 (intent to cause riot), 153(A)(1)(a) (causes disharmony or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious, racial, language or regional groups or castes or communities), 295(p) (defiling a place of worship), 505(1)(b) (likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public), 505(2) (makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumor or report) of the Indian Penal Code.
There is another analogy by Maridass & several others that this is funded by Muslim organization in support of the DMK & Christian Missionaries, to attain the end goal of winning the 2021 state elections. Let the best party win in elections, we don't care. But not at the cost of hurting someone's Religious beliefs!
This needs to be condemned, the group needs to be banned, responsible people behind this must be arrested immediately.
