Educating school kids on the rules and safety measures to take while using the Cyberworld
The Issue
Think about the future generations.
There are digital advancements occurring on an hourly basis in today's times. Digitalisation has occurred to such an extent that it has become almost impossible to live without exposure to digital content. The Growing reach of technology has meant easy accessibility of devices for the younger generations. And due to the COVID-19 pandemic, every child in India, now has a smartphone. While these gadgets have undeniable advantages, the most important thing has been ignored ,which is safety. To be precise Cyber Security. As the younger generations start getting exposed to the world it is quite common for then to be taught manners, social etiquette and possible dangers in the outside world, but this system is incomplete. With the world going digital, they should also be taught how to protect themselves in the cyber world, what are the laws and acts that empower them in the digital world.
A study conducted in 2018 by the UK-based consumer tech review firm Comparitech showed that India is the land of online bullies. India has the highest rate of children falling victim to Cyberbullying. More 37% of Indian children were victims to Cyberbullying. We also see daily in the News of how many people fall victim to a Cyber related crime.
Educating Children on the social norms and etiquette to be followed while using the Cyberwold at a very young age of about 5th or 6th grade, before they are introduced to the world of technology is the only solution to this problem.
This petition is directed to the Ministry of Education, Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and every other minister who could help bring this into action
Please Sign the petition and help make the CyberWorld a better place for the future generations
It's your turn to make a difference
