What street can I travel without fear?

Right now a Muslim child in India is asking herself these questions. Right now Indian Muslims, adults and children alike, fear they will be attacked with impunity because the clothes they wear, the food they eat, or the songs they sing reveal their Muslim heritage to those who wish them harm. Even non-Muslims can be attacked and ostracized by their community for showing kindness or offering help to a Muslim neighbor. Today, a pregnant woman in dire distress, losing her baby in the street, can be refused emergency care in a hospital because she is Muslim. There is no place for this kind of oppression and discrimination in a democratic country.
