I am writing this in support of all of my female Muslim friends who have every right to wear Hijab, which is a part of their culture and religion. 

Contending that Indians flaunt diverse religious symbols, from the pendant to the Hijab to the bindi and turban, the Muslim girls fighting the Hijab ban in Karnataka on Wednesday asked why the government was 'picking' on the headscarf alone and making "this hostile discrimination."

If a Hindu can put a Bindi and wear bangles, a Sikh can wear a Turban, a Brahmin can wear his body thread, a Christian can wear his/her cross pendant, and when most of them can put tattoos of their own religious beliefs is allowed and never stopped at the college gates because of any of these mentioned above, why one of my fellow INDIAN is not allowed inside her college. Why is it an offence suddenly when it was allowed and never denied before in the same college. 

This discrimination against Muslim girls is purely on the basis of religion and hence a hostile discrimination, which violates Article 15 of the Indian constitution. I am astonished how the court agreed to such discrimination without punishing the offenders. 

Deeply saddened and ashamed infact to have seen this day. The nation has failed today to have gotten it so far. This issue should have been curbed on day 1 it started. India is a secular nation and a democratic country. I do not see that today.

The 18 yr old millennials who are mocking and harassing the Muslim daughters of this country have no right to call themselves Indians - This isn’t India! The national anthem doesn’t teach us that! Blinded by the selfish politicians who are using these kids for their benefits in elections.

A wise man once said -

“ Country is not just the mud and soil,
Country means people.”

Today we may have failed due to some corrupted minds but we all can win this if the same people (sensible ones) fight against this to save the country and it’s pride.

Lastly, my sincere apologies to all those girls who are having to face this today as I extend my support to my fellow Muslim friends.
