This petition is a demand to change the name of the Bakhtiyarpur Junction Railway Station, which is named after Bhakhtiyar Khiliji, who was an invader, who destroyed Nalanda University and burnt it down.  Nalanda University was one of the most prestigious universities and centers of knowledge in the ancient world.

The name of this station which is named after this invader, who looted, robed and destroyed, is a shameful blot on India's psyche, history and is a major blunder. We request that this mistake be rectified immediately and be changed to something more appropriate, which reflects India's ancient culture. I can suggest "Dharampala Nagar Junction", after Dharampala who was the primary patron of the Nalanda University when it started. 

This station is is located on the Howrah–Delhi main line and is about 46 km away from Patna. There is also a block named "Bakhtiyarpur" in the Patna district in the state of Bihar, India. We demand that the name for this be changed to something more appropriate.
