Increased Pedestrian Safety at 41st & Duval Intersection

Increased Pedestrian Safety at 41st & Duval Intersection
The Issue
If you live in Hancock or Hyde Park and have crossed 41st St and Duval as a pedestrian, you've likely encountered countless cars rolling through or completely ignoring the stop sign and crosswalk, often speeding through well over 30mph as they do so.
Especially ahead of I-35 construction leading to increased thoroughfare traffic along 41st St, let's increase the visibility and safety of pedestrians at this intersection and ensure we keep Hancock & Hyde Park safe and walkable.
If Austin is going to have initiatives like Vision Zero, let's see them put pen to paper and show them a glaring blind spot in our neighborhood that needs fixing. https://www.austintexas.gov/department/vision-zero
Please sign this petition and contact our District Representative, 311, and the Mayor's Office until we see this fixed.
