As a resident of Rugby and an electric vehicle (EV) owner, I find myself continually inconvenienced by the lack of public charging ports. There are many of us here who have taken a global, environmentally-responsible step towards owning an electric car, but we find ourselves undermined by insufficient infrastructure facility. Considering the rising trend of EVs, this inadequacy chokes our convenience and stands as a barrier to sustainable development.

In the UK, the number of plug-in cars increased from around 3,500 in 2013 to more than 195,000 by early 2020 (Source: Next Green Car). This rapid growth is not matched by the deployment of charging stations, particularly in Rugby. An increase in the number of charging ports in our region would create a more sustainable and convenient environment for EV users.

By signing this petition, we request the local government to prioritize the construction and installation of more public charging ports around our town. This effort not only benefits the community of EV users but also steadfastly supports the global momentum towards a greener, healthier world.
