Dear Intrepid Studios and the Ashes of Creation Community,
In the immersive world of Ashes of Creation, players form guilds to strategize, quest, and support one another while exploring vast landscapes and conquering challenges in ashes player-driven narrative. However, the current base limitation of 50 members per guild proves a significant hindrance for fostering larger, more inclusive communities right from the start.
As dedicated players, we have experienced firsthand how this cap restricts social interactions and prevents larger groups of friends, family, and gaming enthusiasts from uniting under one banner. By increasing the base guild size to 75 members, Ashes of Creation can become an even more dynamic and engaging MMORPG, where players seamlessly collaborate on quests, node development, and epic victories—strengthening bonds and retention across all servers.
This change would profoundly enhance the community experience central to the game. A 75-member base enables greater diversity, with players bringing unique skills, strategies, and play-styles to enrich game-play for everyone. It fully respects the guild progression system's design, where guilds earn points through collective achievements to invest in paths like size expansion (scaling up to a maximum of 225 members if fully dedicated to that tree), powerful perks, skills, or balanced growth. Alliances continue to enable massive coordination for node wars, castle sieges, and large-scale events, preserving strategic depth and preventing zerg dominance.
Importantly, this adjustment introduces no disruption to progression—guilds start from a stronger, more accessible foundation but must still grind thoughtfully for those 225 max slots or specialize differently (e.g., elite skills capping around 75). It's a targeted quality-of-life improvement born from Alpha 2 feedback, addressing real pain points like splitting Discord clans or friend groups while safeguarding long-term player agency.
