Increase Tax Incentives to Attract Film and Television Productions to Pensacola, Florida

The Issue

Since 1978, when the film Jaws 2 was shot on our picturesque shores, Pensacola, Florida, has largely been ignored by movie and television production companies. Our city's rich culture, stunning landscapes, and dedicated community deserve greater representation within the film industry. With stronger tax incentives, we have the unique opportunity to actively encourage these companies to return to our beloved city, providing both national exposure and significant economic benefits locally. The Governor's Office of Film & Television states that every dollar invested in film incentives returns $5.60 in wages alone, not including the ancillary benefits to local businesses and tourism (source: Oregon Governor’s Office of Film & Television). We call on our state legislators to support our endeavor by increasing tax incentives for film and television productions in Pensacola, Florida. Sign this petition to show your support for Pensacola’s potential as a valuable filming location.
