We live in constant worry owing to the persistent crime that has wreaked havoc in our parking lots. Vehicle break-ins and robberies are on the rise, and just recently, a shooting occurred where a team member was shot. This situation is unacceptable and endangers our community’s safety. It is a stark reminder of the insecurity of our parking lot, and emphasizes the need for immediate action. We call for increased security patrols to promptly deter any potential criminal activities.

Adequate lighting in the parking lots is an effective urban design tool that can help prevent crime (source: Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design). Furthermore, CCTV surveillance offers additional security and serves as a visual crime deterrent (source: Crime Prevention Studies). Hence, it's glaringly evident that the demand for lighting and cameras in our parking lots is an emergency safety measure rather than a luxury.

We, the people directly affected by these adverse conditions, also suggest the implementation of vehicle parking permits. This simple strategy can act as a crucial safeguard for our parked vehicles, controlling access to the parking lots and helping track any unauthorised presence.
