While several measures have been implemented regarding improving safety regarding school zones, there are several areas around the United States where school safety remains lackluster. Personally, I witnessed several car accidents where children transporting to school via bicycles were hit by reckless drivers. This is not an isolated incident. Several happen across the United States. There is a considerable importance towards improving safety across the United States specifically in school zones. To achieve this, we propose three key measures: firstly, the reduction of speed limits in close proximity to schools, ensuring the safety of our children and their families. Secondly, we seek the deployment of crossing guards to facilitate safe pedestrian crossings, especially in areas with heavy traffic. Thirdly, we implore the introduction of traffic calming measures to reduce the likelihood of accidents. Please sign and share this petition to make school zones safer.
