I am a concerned citizen of Wakefield, and on numerous occasions, I have witnessed criminals getting away with illegal behavior due to the lack of police presence. This is not just my personal experience; it is a shared concern among many residents and shop workers within our city centre. The lack of law enforcement visibility is causing anguish and fear in the general public.

Wakefield has seen an increase in crime rates over recent years. Compared to the national crime rate. Wakefields crime rate is at 173% and vilent crime. makes up 41.3%of all crimes reported in the postcode area in the year 2024

The safety of our community should be paramount. We urge local authorities to take immediate action by increasing police presence on our streets. This will not only deter criminal activity but also provide reassurance to the residents and shop workers who contribute so much to our vibrant city centre.
