Every morning, as I drop my child at school, I am greeted with a scene of chaos and concern. The area around the school, which could have been a space of safety and order, is instead filled with vehicles competing for limited parking spots. I witness the anxiety parents experience as they attempt to find safe places to park while ushering their children across busy areas.

The current situation is dire and unsafe, not just for our children but also for parents who find themselves in precarious parking conditions. The decision to place bollards only aggravates the problem by eliminating potential parking spaces, leaving parents to contend with the disapproval from the nearby shopping center when parking on their premises.

There is a simple and effective solution: utilize the vacant land at the front of the school along Roche Road to Currajong Road for proper parking facilities. This land is currently nothing more than a dust pit, an eyesore that cries out for purpose. Transforming this space into an organized parking area will not only enhance safety but also improve the overall appearance of our school environment.

By creating designated parking spaces, we will alleviate traffic congestion, ensure the safety of children being dropped off, and eliminate tension with local businesses. Investing in this project directly impacts the daily lives of families and enhances the school-community relationship.
