Increase Ohio’s Public Education Funding Now
The Issue
I'm a teacher witnessing firsthand the struggle of balancing two full-time jobs just to make ends meet. It pains me to say that this isn't an isolated issue but a growing concern across Ohio. Many of us, passionate educators, have found ourselves in a position where teaching alone isn’t enough to provide for our families. This isn't fair, and it’s certainly not sustainable.
In Ohio, as public education continues to face defunding, more teachers are forced to pick up additional work outside of their teaching commitments. It's heartbreaking because what we truly want is to focus on teaching your children. The current funding situation means one in five, or perhaps even more, have to juggle these extra duties. Our children deserve teachers who can dedicate their full energy and passion to their education, yet the current financial structures make this impossible.
This issue doesn’t just affect teachers. It affects our entire community. Your vote matters—it's the key to change. The officials you elect decide on education budgets, and the levies that nurture or neglect our schools. It’s vital we recognize the importance of supporting public education during elections.
I'm reaching out to our community, urging you to take action. Your vote can approve or deny the necessary funds that would allow us to focus on teaching and shaping the next generation without worrying about financial survival. Every vote counts, and your participation can drive the change we need.
Sign this petition to demand immediate action from our legislators to increase funding for public education in Ohio. This isn’t just about our present but about securing a bright future for all children. Join us in advocating for the necessary funding that supports educators and, most importantly, enhances the educational experiences of students. Together, we can make a difference.
