The Issue

2025 Graduates

I come from a large family, and quite honestly, 10 graduation tickets just aren't enough. When I found out that I wouldn't be able to have all my siblings attend one of the most significant milestones of my life, it was disheartening. Graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and it should be celebrated with those who have supported us throughout our journey. With a venue capable of hosting 7,500 people, why are we being restricted to only 10 tickets each?

Montgomery Public Schools needs to recognize the importance of family and community at such an important event. Other school districts with similar or even smaller venues offer their graduates more tickets, making it possible for more family members to attend. In fact, a venue of this size should easily accommodate at least 15 tickets per student (which it has done in the past in this same venue).

This is not just about my family; it's about fairness and the ability to share this moment with those who matter most to us all. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, high school graduation rates have been steadily rising, meaning more families are invested in our students' successes. It's crucial that these families have the chance to witness this valued achievement.

Let's come together to urge the Montgomery Public School System to reconsider their ticket allocation policy. Adjusting this policy will ensure more families can share in the joy of graduation day without having to choose which loved ones get to attend.

Sign this petition and help convince Montgomery Public Schools to allocate at least 15 graduation tickets per student. Let's make our graduation ceremonies as inclusive as possible for everyone involved.

Thank you for sharing this petition with me. To my understanding, ASU plays a part in how many tickets can be distributed per student. That is what was shared with me when the MOU was constructed last year for this upcoming graduation. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Jade Jones and she will be able to provide you with more information. 223-6700 (main office phone number).
