Would you love to have gatherings and group meetups at the splash pad in Lilburn in the morning and during low traffic times? It would offer a wonderful opportunity for kids to have a safer and calmer environment, more space to play freely, and a quieter environment for meaningful interactions with one another. Unfortunately, the current operating hours of the splash pad don't fully support this, limiting it to 12-9pm Wednesday-Sunday in the summer season. Currently, limited hours and closures on Mondays and Tuesdays restrict access and appeal for many residents.

By expanding the splash pad’s hours to open from 10 AM to 9 PM 7 days a week, May through October, the city will:

*Support families with young children who prefer morning outings
*Provide weekday access for homeschool families and childcare groups
*Offer relief during intense heat starting earlier in the day
*Include Mondays and Tuesdays, which are important for residents with weekday days off
*Create a consistent, reliable schedule that helps families plan activities

We are petitioning the local authorities to increase the budget allocated to the splash pad facilities, allowing it to operate 7 days a week from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, from May through October in 2026. This change would accommodate not only homeschoolers but also parents and guardians who work unconventional hours and are looking for a safe and engaging environment for their children.
