The Issue

Thousands of women across our nation are unable to access one of the most basic yet necessary items: women's menstrual products. This struggle is not only personal but represents a broad issue that infringes on what should be seen as a simple human right, rather than a market for companies to profit, often at the cost of women's health with the use of harmful toxins in these products.

It is shocking and shameful that the current socio-economic system fails to provide for women's basic needs. The neglect of women's health in schools and workplaces across the country is nothing short of discrimination, with menstrual products viewed more often as a commodity rather than a necessary item of personal hygiene.

One in four women in the United States struggled to purchase menstrual products due to lack of income over the past year, according to the "State of the Period" survey by THINX and PERIOD. In the same study, it was revealed that nearly 84% of students have either missed class time or know someone who has because they didn't have access to period products.

The fight for better women's health support in schools and workplaces begins with us taking a stand and demanding increased funds for women's menstrual products. These resources will provide women with more choices, healthier options, and assure no one is denied their basic rights due to monetary constraints.

Join us as we urge governing bodies and institutions to prioritize women's health and provide adequate funding for menstrual products in schools and workplaces. It's time we demand equal treatment and support for matters that directly impact half of our population. Sign the petition today.
