As residents of Tennessee, we daily witness the allure and natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This park that we cherish is at risk. Over time, due to lack of adequate funding, the maintenance and preservation of the park have been compromised.

The park, a haven for diverse fauna and flora, is also home to the some of the world's most spectacular vistas crediting to over 10 million annual visitors. However, lack of adequate funds has presented detrimental challenges in preserving this national treasure. It is crucial that our government officials consider providing additional funding to maintain the beauty and health of our park, ensuring its endurance for future generations.

Recent statistics from the National Park Service demonstrate a significant requirement for additional funds with an estimated $215 million required for deferred maintenance. This worryingly high number underscores the pressing need for increased government policies supporting the upkeep of our cherished park.
