I am a student in Wahpeton, ND, and every day I see the same thing - first graders receiving the same food portions as older students like me. This is not enough to sustain us throughout our long school days. We are still hungry at the end of the day. It's time for a change.

Hunger can negatively affect academic performance and concentration levels (according to research by American Psychological Association). In fact, it's estimated that 13 million children in America go to school hungry (No Kid Hungry). This is an issue that affects not only us students but also our future.

We need more food in our schools. We need portion sizes that reflect our age and nutritional needs. By doing so, we can ensure all students have the energy they need to focus on their education.

Please sign this petition and join us in urging the Wahpeton School District to increase food portions for its students. Together, we can make sure no student goes through their school day hungry again.
