I am a proud and concerned cottager and resident of beautiful Huntsville, ON, Canada. I am personally affected by the current state of our public beach that sadly has become a safety concern over recent years. With the steady rise in popularity and generational turnover in our area, we find the beach access increasingly limited. This limitation is due, in large part, to overgrown and leaning trees obstructing the way, that urgently require maintenance. In response to the influx of cottagers and permanent residents, it also becomes clear that an expansion of the beach frontage is necessary to accommodate the increasing number of beachgoers.

The lack of sufficient parking spaces further compounds the problem. As street parking becomes a prevalent practice due to inadequate parking facilities, we face an escalating issue of public safety, especially concerning our children. An increase in parking access is paramount to prevent such scenarios, and ensure safer, uncompromised fun for our beach-loving families.

The boat launch area also is in need of serious backfilling and maintenance, as it's currently in a state that doesn't meet the safety standards deserved in a community such as ours.

It's time to take action. The beauty and safety of our public beach should not be dismissed. It's time for the required maintenance and improvements to take place, for the sake of public safety, community satisfaction and the conservation of our cherished waterfront. Let us step in to secure a safer and more accessible beach for all Huntsville residents and visitors. Let's foster a community where our children, our families, and our future generations can enjoy the beach without worries of obstruction or safety concerns. Please, sign this petition today and support the call for improvement and proper maintenance of our beloved beachfront.
