Increase Animal Shelters and Subsidized Neuter/Spay Clinics in Our City

The Issue

I am a fervent animal lover with unconditional love for all creatures; they have no voice and it affects me deeply that they need us to speak up for them. Over time, I have dedicated myself to the local shelter page and the 209 lost and found page, to help reunite lost animals with their families, and find fosters or new homes for abandoned animals and strays. I've even adopted from these overburdened shelters, intending to make a difference.

However, the fact remains; our local shelters are overcrowded, having to resort each week to the tragic practice of euthanizing perfectly healthy dogs in order to make space. This is a heartbreaking reality we live with everyday. Even after doing all within my power, it feels as if it isn't enough; the problem persists. This is why I urge you to sign this petition.

This is a plea to our city's authorities to plan expansion of existing animal shelters, to build new ones if necessary, and implement more low-cost neuter/spay clinics. By doing so, we can efficiently control the animal population, thereby reducing the overwhelming pressure on our animal shelters and stop the unnecessary loss of innocent lives. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, approximately 6.5 million animals are sent to U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year, many of which are euthanized due to insufficient resources or adoption rates. By improving and expanding our shelters and clinics, we have the potential to drastically reduce these numbers.

Make a stand for these voiceless creatures. They need us, and we have the obligation to be their voice, to stand up for them, to care for them. Please, sign this petition today. Together, we can change their world for the better.
