Earning respect and more visibility for acrobatic gymnastics, the sport that has faithfully been my passion and life for the last 7 years, has been quite hard. Acrobatic gymnasts dedicate their lives to mastering a beautiful and exacting discipline, yet it still does not enjoy the prestige of becoming an Olympic sport.

Acrobatic gymnastics, or acro for short, is a harmonious combination of strength, flexibility, and artistic expression. It requires rigorous training, extraordinary discipline, and superlative skill. Despite these high demands and its impressively dynamic nature, acrobatic gymnastics is noticeably absent from the Olympic sports lineup.

As an acrobatic gymnast, I believe the time has come to recognize the merit of this phenomenal sport and include it in the Olympic Games. Acrobatic gymnastics not only exemplifies the athletic prowess and determination that the Olympics aim to celebrate, but its inclusion would also give it the recognition it truly deserves globally.

I stand with the acrobatic gymnastic community worldwide in requesting the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to officially include acrobatic gymnastics in the future Olympic Games. By doing so, it will provide acrobatic gymnasts with the opportunity to compete at the highest international level. This not only validates our hard work and skills but also expands the diversity of sports represented at the Olympics.

There are currently over 19,000 athletes participating in acrobatic gymnastics in the United States alone, according to 2019 data from the Gymnastics Academy of America. The growth is remarkable and it's high time that it should be acknowledged. We are not just acrobatic gymnasts—we are athletes striving for the chance to showcase our prowess, dedication, and passion on the world's largest sporting stage.
