As a Palestinian, I carry in my veins the resilience and strength of my ancestors. We are descendants of the Canaanites, who witnessed their homes, lands, and souls destroyed but rose again as the Phoenicians. This cycle of destruction and rebirth is a testament to our enduring spirit. It's time our flag reflects this.

The phoenix is an emblematic creature that symbolizes rebirth from ashes - it dies only to be born anew. This mirrors our history as Palestinians; we have faced countless adversities yet continue to rise again stronger than before. By incorporating a phoenix into our flag, we would pay homage not only to our Phoenician ancestors but also acknowledge the indomitable spirit of present-day Palestinians.

Historically speaking, there is evidence linking Palestinians back to ancient civilizations like Canaanites and Phoenicians (Finkelstein & Silberman 2001). These civilizations were known for their resilience in face of adversity which aligns with what modern-day Palestinians endure.
