Dear Sir / Madam,

प्रिय महोदय/महोदया,

HINDI is spoken by about 697 million Indians, i.e., about 57% of Indians use HINDI either as their native language or as their 2nd or 3rd language. In addition, about 44% of Fiji’s population uses Hindi. Fiji has even adopted Hindi as an official language. Hindi and its dialects are also spoken in many other countries as well - like French Guiana, Jamaica, Mauritius, Nepal, New Zealand, Singapore, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. More than 50% of 30 million Indian diasporas living overseas use Hindi as their language of communication. Even a vast majority of people in Afghanistan and Pakistan understand the HINDI language quite well.

हिंदी लगभग 697 मिलियन भारतीयों द्वारा बोली जाती है, यानी लगभग 57% भारतीय या तो अपनी मूल भाषा के रूप में या अपनी दूसरी या तीसरी भाषा के रूप में हिंदी का उपयोग करते हैं। इसके अलावा, फिजी की लगभग 44% आबादी हिंदी का उपयोग करती है। फिजी ने हिंदी को राजभाषा के रूप में भी अपनाया है। हिंदी और इसकी बोलियाँ कई अन्य देशों में भी बोली जाती हैं - जैसे फ्रेंच गुयाना, जमैका, मॉरीशस, नेपाल, न्यूजीलैंड, सिंगापुर, सूरीनाम और त्रिनिदाद और टोबैगो। विदेशों में रहने वाले 30 मिलियन भारतीय डायस्पोरा में से 50% से अधिक हिंदी का उपयोग अपनी संचार भाषा के रूप में करते हैं। यहां तक ​​कि अफगानिस्तान और पाकिस्तान में अधिकांश लोग हिंदी भाषा को अच्छी तरह समझते हैं।

Yet, it is very sad that Hindi is not an official language at the world-level organizations like United Nations (UN) and its various affiliates (like WHO – World Health Organization, ILO – International Labour Organization, UNFCC – United Nations Framework for Climate Change, etc.), World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF). Other languages like Arabic, French, Spanish and Russian, which are spoken by a relatively far less number of people, are among the official languages of these organizations. By including HINDI as one of the official languages, these world-level organizations will reach directly to over 700 million people in India and around the world. This development will help in fighting poverty, hunger, starvation, disease, climate change, gender inequality, etc. more strongly than otherwise. Therefore, it is a humble request to you all to include HINDI as an official language of the UN, WB, and IMF and remove the disadvantage of the language barrier of about 700 million people in India and around the world. It will be a game-changer for the UN, IMF, World Bank, and HINDI speakers.

हिंदी को राजभाषाओं में से एक के रूप में शामिल करके, ये विश्व स्तरीय संगठन भारत और दुनिया भर में 700 मिलियन से अधिक लोगों तक सीधे पहुंचेंगे। यह विकास गरीबी, भूख और भुखमरी, बीमारी, जलवायु परिवर्तन, लैंगिक असमानता, आदि से लड़ने में मदद करेगा। इसलिए, आप सभी से विनम्र अनुरोध है कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र, डब्ल्यूबी और आईएमएफ की राजभाषा के रूप में हिंदी को शामिल करें और भारत और दुनिया भर में लगभग 700 मिलियन लोगों की भाषा की बाधा को दूर करें। यह यूएन, आईएमएफ, विश्व बैंक और हिंदी बोलने वालों के लिए गेम-चेंजर साबित होगा।
