Include Comprehensive Animal Kingdom Education in School Curriculums

The Issue

Animals, as multicellular, eukaryotic organisms, form a significant part of our planet's biodiversity. They belong to the biological kingdom Animalia and possess unique characteristics that set them apart from other life forms. For instance, with few exceptions, animals consume organic material and breathe oxygen. They have myocytes which enable movement and reproduce sexually. Their growth begins from a hollow sphere of cells known as the blastula during embryonic development.

As of 2022, there are 2.16 million living animal species that have been described by scientists (source: World Register of Marine Species). This vast diversity is a testament to the complexity and richness of life on Earth.

However, many school curriculums do not provide comprehensive education about this vital kingdom of life forms. A more thorough understanding could foster greater appreciation for biodiversity and inspire future generations to protect it.

We urge educational authorities to include comprehensive education about the Animalia kingdom in school curriculums across all levels. This will ensure students gain an accurate understanding of these organisms' characteristics, their role in our ecosystems, and their importance for our planet's health.

Please sign this petition if you believe in enhancing our children's knowledge about the world they live in by providing them with comprehensive education on animal species.
