Nude tourism is growing in popularity in America and brings in billions of dollars every year. In 2019, the Outer Banks ranked as one of the most ideal spots for a clothing-optional beach. The coronavirus pandemic is on track to devastate the local economy of the Outer Banks; allowing a small section of beach for nude tourism will be one great way to help mitigate the effects.

Residents and visitors alike want the freedom to connect with the natural beauty of the Outer Banks in their natural form without fear of being fined or arrested.

The Outer Banks clothing-optional beach would be a small section of beach far from any populous areas and hidden from view by sand dunes. Like all clothing-optional beaches in America, there would be warning signs for anyone who might be discomforted by non-sexual nudity.

North Carolina does have a statute that prohibits public nudity; however, like Florida and other states with clothing-optional beaches, local areas have the power to make exceptions. Just last year Carolina Beach's ordinance on public nudity was relaxed! Toplessness and exposed buttocks are already tolerated on the Outer Banks.
