In support of the Chabad Waterloo JCC project

The Issue

We, the undersigned, strongly support the development of a new Jewish community centre in Waterloo at 251 Albert Street, under the leadership of Rabbi Moshe and Rivky Goldman of the Rohr Chabad Centre for Jewish Life. Our community is vibrant and growing, and our current space is inadequate. We need and deserve proper space to celebrate our Jewish identity and connect as a community. We ask that the city give this proposal its full support and ensure that the Jewish community continues to be welcomed and thrive in this city. Thank you!

PROJECT SUMMARY:
We stand at a pivotal moment in the rich tapestry of our vibrant and diverse community.  The heart of our identity, the Rohr Chabad Centre for Jewish Life - needs a new home - the Waterloo Jewish Community Centre – a sanctuary where tradition meets innovation, and where our shared values are celebrated, preserved, and passed down to future generations.

We are embarking on a remarkable journey and are asking for your signature to support a new community centre at 251 Albert Street that will house a synagogue, daycare centre, 30 residential housing units, and community event space.

Among the condo towers and academic buildings, the new community centre will highlight Waterloo's diversity, our student population, and our growing local Jewish community.

Will you sign today to show your support for this project? Your signature will help us move forward with planning and work with our partners to demonstrate community need and support.

We envision a place where traditions are upheld, celebrations are shared, and bonds are forged. We provide a safe space for worship, cultural events, and communal gatherings.  Your support ensures that our synagogue services, cultural programs, and counseling services continue to thrive.  By demonstrating your support, you are preserving the rich tapestry of Jewish heritage and strengthening the very fabric of our community.
