Improving the Nottingham to Skegness Train service

The Issue

We, the undersigned, call upon the Government to take urgent action to improve the EMR train service between Nottingham and Skegness.

Local residents — along with the thousands of visitors who rely on this route — are increasingly frustrated by a service that is consistently inadequate. The current rolling stock is insufficient, outdated, and often dirty, leaving passengers regularly forced to stand or, at peak times, unable to board at all. Frequent cancellations further undermine reliability.

During the summer months, the situation becomes even worse. Many travellers are unable to book tickets for the trains and are instead compelled to use replacement buses.

We urge the Government to intervene and ensure that EMR provides a modern, reliable, and properly resourced service that meets the needs of our communities and supports sustainable travel.
