Subject: Request for Immediate Improvement of Road Conditions and Temporary Traffic Relief Measures
Respected Sir,
We, the residents of Brigade Xanadu, would like to bring to your kind attention the severe traffic congestion and unsafe road conditions that we face every day.
We are pleased to see the commencement of the Storm Water Drain project in our locality, which is an important infrastructure initiative. However, as part of the project, the road connecting Brigade Xanadu–Union Road to the New Bridge has been closed. This has resulted in all traffic being diverted through Annamalai Avenue and Chanakyan Main Road, leading to significant congestion.
Further, the ongoing Metro Water works, recent rains, and other construction activities have left these roads in a deplorable condition. Nearly half of the road has become unusable, while the remaining portion is forced to accommodate heavy traffic, including school buses, school vans, water tankers, construction vehicles, and daily commuters. This has created a serious safety hazard, particularly for school-going children, women riding two-wheelers, and senior citizens. Unfortunately, several minor accidents have already occurred.
We respectfully request your immediate intervention to improve the road conditions. If the permanent restoration is expected to take more time, we kindly request that temporary measures be undertaken, such as leveling and grading the damaged road, so that it remains safely motorable until the project is completed.
This road is the primary access route for residents of Brigade Xanadu, Casagrand Tudor, and Casagrand Millenia, collectively comprising more than **3,000 families**. Ensuring safe and smooth traffic movement will greatly benefit thousands of residents who depend on this route every day.
We have great faith in your leadership and in the government. With that confidence, we humbly submit this request and sincerely hope for your prompt intervention to resolve this issue at the earliest.
