Improve Transportation to Sir Robert Borden Intermediate/H.S. for Qualicum.

The Issue

Organized by Cash

Sir Robert Borden Intermediate/High School, located in Nepean, Ottawa, serves a diverse student population from various neighbourhoods, including Qualicum-Graham Park. However, transportation services to and from this school for students living in Qualicum-Graham Park neighbourhood are grossly inadequate, leading to long commute times, decreased safety, and causing undue stress to these students and their families.

While, students in intermediate (grades 7 and 8) are provided a free presto pass for use on OC Transpo busses, this is not an ideal solution, as the routes provided are inefficient. Many students in this area opt to walk or bike to school instead, leading to long commutes (35-40 minutes) and creating safety concerns due to heavily congested  roadways along the route.

We urge the concerned authorities, Ottawa District School Board, and Ottawa Student Transportation Authority, to reassess the current transportation policy and to work with OC Transpo, the community and partners, to improve the transportation services provided.

Support us in ensuring all students, including those from the Qualicum-Graham Park neighbourhood, have equal access to education by addressing this critical issue. Sign this petition and help us voice this concern to demand improved transportation to Sir Robert Borden High School.
